I think it's about time I update my progress on Sylph..I'm about 78% completed now and I'm still loving her....
She's coming along nicely, BUT, all along the bottom there is a ton of WHITE and this hasn't been fun stitching.
I've also started another project. It's a design by Martina Weber of Chatelaine called "White Nights in Saint Petersburg". This one is going to be a challenge but fun to do. I've got quite a bit complete already, but I want to move it onto a Needlepoint Floor stand and I'm waiting for the frame to arrive in the mail.
There are all kinds of lovely silk threads and metallic braids...This is being stitched on 32 count Lugana in Williamsburg Blue (I think) and working 2 threads over 2 threads
You'll have to wait to see what it's going to look like as I go along....I'll try and update regularly
We are in the middle of an incredible heat wave. Normally on the west coast of Canada, summer temperatures are in the 20-30 degree C (closer to 20 normally) - for you in the U.S. or still using Farenheit, this commutes to around 70-90 F....but all this week the temperatures have been between 30-40 C (90-110 F) and it is so humid it's exhausting. We have no air conditioning, so we've been relying on our fans (and they aren't quite cutting it). Sleep is almost impossible. I blew up our inflatable boat and put it on our back deck and have been using that as a makeshift pool..... They expect this weather is going to stick around for another week. I don't mind the heat so much, but the humidity and the lack of any kind of wind is driving me nuts
